Morning Bird Watching in My Home Garden
Morning Bird Watching in My Home Garden – 12 Species Spotted in Just 1 Hour
Date: 3rd August 2025
Time: 7:10 AM – 8:10 AM
Location: Home Garden, Bingiriya, Sri Lanka
Spending a quiet morning in the garden turned into an exciting birdwatching experience. Within just one hour, I was able to spot 12 different bird species, highlighting the biodiversity that exists right at our doorstep.
My garden continues to be a haven for both common and lesser-seen birds. The sightings included a mix of doves, sunbirds, bulbuls, and even an endemic Sri Lanka Red-backed Flameback, which is always a special treat.

wonders waiting just outside our doors. Whether you're a nature lover, a
beginner birder, or simply someone who enjoys a peaceful morning, your home
garden can offer surprising sightings if you take the time to look and listen.
More birdwatching stories and photography coming soon! I’ll
be sharing detailed posts from other locations as well—including national parks
and wetlands across Sri Lanka.
